Bradycardia (slow heartbeat) can also occur due to blockage of calcium channels in the atrioventricular node of the heart. There is no treatment besides monitoring blood pressure and heart function. === Asia === In Western Asia, during the region's November–April rainy season, there is increased precipitation in the El Niño phase and reduced precipitation in the La Niña phase on average. During El Niño years: As warm water spreads from the west Pacific and the Indian Ocean to the east Pacific, it takes the rain with it, causing extensive drought in the western Pacific and rainfall in the normally dry eastern Pacific. Singapore experienced the driest February in 2010 since records began in 1869, with only 6.3 mm of rain falling in the month. The years 1968 and 2005 had the next driest Februaries, when 8.4 mm of rain fell. During La Niña years, the formation of tropical cyclones, along with the subtropical ridge position, shifts westward across the western Pacific Ocean, which increases the landfall threat in China. In March 2008, La Niña caused a drop in sea surface temperatures over Southeast Asia by 2 °C (3.6 °F). It also caused heavy rains over the Philippines, Indonesia, and Malaysia.
There are many reasons why an excited state can be metastable. The most common mechanism is by suppression of gamma decay of excited nuclei, making the decay route a forbidden transition. == Women in Cinema Collective == In May 2017, following the sexual assault of a prominent Malayalam film actress in Kochi, Kallingal was among a group of women film professionals who petitioned the Chief Minister of Kerala and subsequently co-founded the Women in Cinema Collective (WCC). The WCC was formally registered as a society on 1 November 2017. The WCC's petition to the government resulted in the formation of the Justice Hema Committee in 2018, tasked with studying the conditions faced by women in the Malayalam film industry. The committee submitted its report in December 2019; it was made public in August 2024 and documented systemic issues including gender-based discrimination, inadequate workplace safety, and the prevalence of power-based exploitation. As a member of the Association of Malayalam Movie Artists (AMMA), Kallingal resigned in protest when the association reinstated a member accused in the 2017 assault case while the matter was still under judicial consideration. She was one of three WCC members — along with Geethu Mohandas and Remya Nambissan — to resign alongside the survivor herself. Kallingal has spoken publicly about the personal and professional costs of the collective's advocacy. "We knew it would be tough, but we never imagined it would cost us personal relationships, careers and expose us to such intense social trolling," she told The Federal in 2024.

The Japan Self-Defense Forces use two types of combat rations, Type I combat ration (Japanese: 戦闘糧食 I型) and Type II combat ration (Japanese: 戦闘糧食 II型). The older Type I ration consists almost entirely of canned foods weighing a total of 780 g per meal; a normal three-day ration has up to 36 cans weighing more than 7 kilograms. Eight menus are available, based around a 400 g can of rice and 2–3 smaller supplemental cans. Typical contents include: rice (white rice, sekihan, mixed rice with vegetables, or rice with mushrooms), a main meal can (chicken and vegetables, beef with vegetables, fish and vegetables, or hamburger patties), pickled vegetables (takuan or red cabbage) and sometimes a supplemental can (tuna in soy or beef in soy). In the latest type I combat rations, cans have been replaced by retort pouches. The newer, lighter Type II ration was originally intended to replace the Type I and consists of pre-cooked, ready-to-eat items in plastic-foil laminate retort pouches, packed in turn inside a drab green polyethylene meal bag.
